Further, in the spirit of constant advancement, we strive to pursue creative reform while educating medical professionals and providing the best medical care possible.

At Juntendo University Hospital we respond to inquiries and accept patients from other countries who desire medical consultation, as well as support foreign nationals living in Japan when they require medical care. We also have cooperative medical relationships with hospitals in other countries. To enhance these systems, we started the Department of International Healthcare on July 1, 2018.

The medical needs of international patients are growing, as the number of foreign people living in Japan or visiting Japan on travel or business has been increasing annually. The number of patients who come to Japan seeking advanced medical care has also been increasing in recent years. While language, culture, religion, lifestyles, and medical systems may differ, our goal is to incorporate international patients into our system as smoothly as possible.

Juntendo University Hospital actively accepts international patients. On July 1, 2018 we started the Department of International Healthcare to respond to the growing number of inquiries from international patients and medical coordinators regarding medical consultations; we have been making great efforts to properly respond to these patients’ individual needs in the context of their specific health condition as well as length of stay in Japan. We also have affiliations with hospitals in many countries around the world and would like to deepen this cooperation to further facilitate smooth patient referrals and hospital transfers.
